You’ve heard it a dozen times, but few people take this warning to heart. Public wi-fi is not secure. Hackers can scan for data on your hard drive while you wait. Those trips and stalls in your connection? Those may be in response to hacking attempts on your hard drive. Never assume a trusted connection from a previous session is equally stable, secure or not suspect to credit card hacking attempts.

The solution is to plan work like writing or researching, reading or watching downloaded video in such places. Take note of individuals checking out your screen. Never conduct credit card transactions in public wi-fi environments.
